Malindi is a well known fishing spot in the world and Geoffrey Safaris would like to take you for a big catch.
A full day deep sea fishing trip can start from 6:30am to 4:30pm while a half day trip starts from 6:30am to 1:30pm.
Fishing starts off the Malindi waters on our “normal” weekday trips. We then travel to the well-known hotspots such as Watamu, Mambrui, and Ngomeni depending on the fishing and weather conditions, attempting various approaches like:
- Baiting for Tiger Sharks
- Bottom fishing with bait for Grouper and Snappers
- Jigging for GTs, Yellowtails, Grouper and Snapper
- Trolling baits and/or lures for Sailfish, Tuna, Wahoo and Marlin
- Power drifting with live bait for Marlin, Shark and Giant Trevally.
Fish species found on the Malindi waters depend on the season.
- January to April is well known for the Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, Sailfish, broadbill/ Swordfish
- August to September is known for the Kingfish, Sailfish, GTs, Black Marlin, Tuna & Wahoo
